High School Resources
Core 40
The CORE 40 is now a requirement for admission to Indiana's 4-year colleges and universities. The links below define CORE 40 and describe how to meet the requirements for high school graduation.
Core 40 Scholars
Information on the Core 40 Scholars program, which uses community members and business people to encourage youth to excel.

Testing Resources
There are tests for getting out of high school as well as getting into college. The following are links to the main Web sites for each test.
- ACT
- The ACT is a college entrance exam. All colleges require such an exam. Check with your institution of choice to see if they require the ACT or SAT or will accept either.
- GED
- The high school equivelency exam is an alternative to the CORE 40 or other high school diploma. There are prep classes and regularly scheduled exams for the GED.
- ISTEP
- The ISTEP is administered to Indiana school students through out their primary and secondary years. In 11th grade, Indiana high school students take an ISTEP test called the High School Proficiency Exam, which they must pass in order to graduate.
- SAT
- The SAT is a college entrance exam. All colleges require such an exam. Check with your institution of choice to see if they require the ACT or SAT or will accept either.

Private and Home School Resources
Private School Resources
Web site provides information for financial assistance for private and secondary schools. Information includes two books that focus on financial aid for private schools, scholarship programs, tuition payment plans, educational loans, and alternatives to education loans and payment plans.
Homeschooling Resources
The IAHE is a non-profit organization for the purpose of supporting and encouraging families interested in home education. The primary functions are maintaining visibility as home educators with civil government leaders, influencing the legislative process, and sponsoring seminars for parent education. They also publish a free bimonthly magazine, The IAHE Informer.
Indiana Foundation for Home Schooling The Indiana Foundation for Home Schooling enables students to achieve their potential by providing recognition, opportunities, and resources that inspire learning and make home schooling an option for any Indiana family.
Indiana Home Educators' Network Indiana HomeSchoolers offers a contact point and a networked community that shares resources and ideas statewide for all Hoosier Homeschoolers and parents who are thinking about it.
Michiana Christian Home Schoolers Michiana Christian Home Educators (MCHE) is a homeschool organization whose goal is to assist its members in their effort to raise mature, discerning, godly young people in a home education environment.
Roman Catholic Home Educators of IN RCHEI's goal is to be a resource network for Catholic home education in the state of Indiana. It is their goal to assist you in locating Catholic home educating families in your geographic area. In addition, they will help you locate Catholic curriculum and materials.
S.E. Indiana Home Educators Southeastern Indiana Christian Home Educators, in agreement with, but not a part of Indiana Association of Home Educators (IAHE), is a ministry of Christian families who come together to give and receive the support and resources that will more fully enable them to provide a home education for their children. SEICHE operates as a unifying association for Christian home school groups which are made up of local group families.
S.W. Indiana Home Educators Southwestern Indiana Home Educators (SWIHE) was organized to serve the area's homeschool community: to provide encouragement to area homeschoolers through educational opportunities, such as monthly fellowship coffees, printed literature, publication of a regional newsletter, etc., to provide resource packets for prospective/new homeschool families, to conduct an annual "Homeschool Information Day," and to sponsor an annual regional convention for the benefit and advancement of home education.

This organization’s Web site has information about family literacy programs, they offer professional training, and design and support family literacy programs.
